Over the years, the Golden Plate Awards have been a big part of Kadota’s journey, and we’re incredibly grateful for the recognition we’ve received. Winning the award for three consecutive years and now joining the Hall of Fame—one of only two venues in its 23-year history—is an honour we don’t take lightly.
Beyond the accolades, we’ve come to appreciate the genuine support they offer to regional hospitality. Their judging process doesn’t just focus on big-name venues but celebrates the dedication and craft of businesses across Victoria. Last year, Alexis had the opportunity to judge the apprentice competition after winning Apprentice of the Year two years in a row—a moment that made us immensely proud.
Now, with Kadota stepping out of the running, I’ve been invited to join the judging panel. It’s a privilege to be part of an organisation that values the kind of hospitality we believe in—where skill, passion, and integrity matter as much as the final dish on the table.
To every business working tirelessly in regional Victoria, these awards exist to shine a light on the work we do. We’ve experienced firsthand the impact of that recognition, and we’re grateful to be part of it from a new perspective this year.
