Reservations

We look forward to welcoming you and your dining companions to Kadota for lunch and dinner bookings. To ensure the most enjoyable experience possible, please ensure that you have familiarised yourself with our FAQs and clearly communicate all guests’ dietary requirements in the supplied form following your booking.

Please note: If we have not received the correct dietary information and we cannot amend the menu it may incur a cancellation fee.
 

Cancellation within 24 hours of your reservation time or, drop in booking numbers will incur a cancellation fee of $50 per person (Classic Set Menu) or $75 per person (Luxury Set Menu) and a $20 fee for any celebration cakes ordered.

 

No-show without contact will incur cancellation fees equal to the least-priced tasting menu available on the day of your reservation.

Group & Private Dining

If you'd like to treat a group of friends or family to an evening of exceptional Japanese dishes, we’d love to welcome you.
Our space can comfortably accommodate groups of up to 10 in our private dining area.

  • What is the pricing for your set menu options?
    Our Classic menu is $120 per person (from 1 March) Our Luxury menu is $190 per person.
  • Do you offer à la carte dining options?
    Our traditional Kaiseki-style of dining offers a refined, seasonal, multi course set menu. A la carte dining options are not available.
  • Do you accommodate dietary requirements?
    Both Classic and Luxury menus can accommodate the following dietary requirements: Vegetarian Gluten free Coeliac Nut free Pescatarian No garlic No red meat No pork No Beef Unfortunately, vegan menu options are not available at this time. Please ensure that you clearly communicate all guests’ dietary requirements in the supplied form following your booking. Please note: If we have not received correct dietary information and we cannot amend the menu it will incur a cancelation fee.
  • Can you accommodate Children?
    Children are more than welcome to dine at Kadota restaurant, but please be aware that no reduction in menu size or Price is available for any child over 12 months old. If you are bringing your child along with you, then you must reserve them a seat and pay the menu price otherwise, we will be unable to seat them at your table. Babies under 12 months old can be seated on their parent's laps and do not need to purchase a menu or reserve a seat. Space restrictions in the dining room mean prams and highchairs cannot be accommodated.
  • Do you offer a vegan-friendly option?
    Unfortunately, an entirely vegan set menu is not available at this time.
  • Do you have dairy-free options?
    Desserts: If you are dairy-free, we can not replace our traditional dessert option. However, we can replace it with a YUZU shu ( yuzu sake ) instead of dessert. Savoury: In most cases we are able to replace savoury dishes with a dairy-free option, please mention your dietary requirements when booking.
  • Can we supply our own cake or dessert for a special celebration?
    To ensure that your entire Kadota experience flows seamlessly from course to course, we do not accommodate dishes prepared outside of our kitchen. We do offer an optional celebratory dessert (in addition to the set dessert course) that we’d be delighted to serve you and your guests.
  • Do you accommodate large groups?
    Our space can comfortably accommodate groups of up to 10 in our private dining area. For bookings of 7 to 10 guests please call the restaurant directly on (03) 5348 1218.
  • What happens if I have to cancel or alter my booking?
    A cancellation within 24 hours of your reservation time, a significant drop in numbers or a “no-show” on the day of your reservation may incur a cancellation fee of $50 per person (Classic Menu) or $75 per person (Luxury Menu) not in attendance. If we have not received correct dietary information and we cannot amend the menu it will incur a cancelation fee. We understand that some changes/cancellations are unavoidable and will do our best to accommodate. However, we encourage any changes to be communicated via email or phone as early as possible.
  • Are there any extra surcharges?
    A 15% surcharge applies to a total of bill on public holidays. A percentage of credit card transaction surcharge, that we are charged by the provider, will be added to your bill.
